U.S. State Privacy Rights Notice
1. Purpose of This Notice
Certain U.S. states provide residents with privacy rights regarding personal information. This notice explains the types of rights that may apply if a state privacy law covers GEIS’s processing activities and the individual’s request.
2. Potential Rights
Depending on applicable law, a user may have rights to request confirmation of processing, access to certain personal information, correction of inaccuracies, deletion of certain data, portability of certain data, and opt-out rights related to targeted advertising or certain profiling activities.
Some laws also provide a right to appeal a denied privacy request.
3. GEIS Data Position
GEIS states in its current Privacy Policy that it does not sell personal data and does not share personal data for cross-context behavioral advertising unless and until its data practices change and the policy is updated.
If GEIS uses targeted advertising tools in a way that creates state-law opt-out rights, GEIS will honor those rights as required by applicable law.
4. How to Submit a Request
Privacy requests may be submitted to Contact@GEISolutions.com. GEIS may request enough information to verify the requester and understand the request.
GEIS may decline a request where permitted by law, including where GEIS cannot reasonably verify identity, where the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or where a legal exception applies.
5. Appeals
If GEIS denies a request and applicable law provides an appeal right, GEIS will provide information about how to seek an internal review or appeal.
6. Limitations
This notice does not expand any rights beyond those required by applicable law, and it does not create an obligation where a law does not apply to GEIS or to the data processing at issue.
7. Contact
Questions about this notice may be directed to Contact@GEISolutions.com.
